Santa Fe Springs Fire-Rescue is shaving out heads to raise money for childhood cancer research! Last year we raised just over $5000.00 as a team with the help of our friends, families, our own personal donations, and donations on behalf of the City of Santa Fe Springs. We would love to surpass that number this year, and are shooting for over $6000.00 as a team. For those of you who attended last year, we had a wonderful turnout for our first time ever participating as a team in this fundraiser. We had about 10 individuals from the department show up to shave their heads in the name of childhood cancer research, and would love to welcome anyone, friends or family, to join us again this year. Anyone is welcome to make a donation; and no donation is too big or too small. This is a very noteworthy charity, and an amazing evening of realizing how sacred life can be. One little action like this can making a lifelong impact on a child and their families. Help make an impact this year by helping out in one of the following ways: 1) Register as part of the SFSFR team and become shavee. This would include you collecting donations on behalf of our team and shaving your head at the event to support the kids. 2) Make a financial donation to the SFSFR team on your own behalf. (This works out if you cannot attend the event, or just decide that shaving your head isn't ideal for you.) 3) Share this event information with any of your own friends and family via social media outlets, e-mail, person to person, etc. Just do whatever you can to get the word out about it and collect donations on behalf of the SFSFR team. ANYTHING that you can donate would help these children. Nothing is too small....$2, $5, $20, $200...whatever you feel that you can afford to give would mean so much. Please come out and support the team! Any questions can be forwarded to Firefighter Tyler Stremel. 909-896-2929 or tstremel@santafesprings.org
