I will be shaving my head for the Melodies Center St. Baldrick’s Event in March. I have told Markel numerous times that it doesn’t matter that she lost her hair due to cancer treatments. It will grow back. It is okay; you are beautiful. Will you please put YOUR money where my mouth is? LOL I will have my locks clipped on March 15th to raise funds in Markel’s honor for childhood cancer research. Last year many of you generously donated when we asked. If you can afford to donate, even the smallest amount this time, we will appreciate it even more. St. Baldrick’s uses this money to find cures for childhood cancer as well as a lot of research is focused on preventing the lifelong damage that results from surgeries, radiation and chemotherapies given while young bodies and brains are just developing. Even during treatment, kids face all kinds of side effects, some very uncomfortable, others life-threatening. That’s why St. Baldrick’s also funds research to improve supportive care for patients. WORLDWIDE A CHILD IS DIAGNOSED EVERY THREE MINUTES. If you had told me a little over a year ago that one of those children would be mine, I would have thought twice but not been a believer. I now know what a difference a day makes and ask that you please make a difference in a child’s life. If you cannot support financially please pray for a cure or come to the event for moral support!
