Cancer sucks! I lost my earthly hero to cancer. I have never met a person who doesn't know someone who has cancer, but what really gets me is when a child is robbed of their childhood because cancer took away from it. We have 2 young people in our community we are specificly doing this for. One family much like ours at our church gave birth to a beautiful baby boy and he was diagnosed with cancer at the age of one week. It was later decided that his leg from the knee down should be amputated. He is doing well, but a newborn should be nursing, sleeping, and bonding with his family not losing a leg, battling cancer, and fighting through chemo. Another young boy was at our house for a party with waterslides and bouncers this summer. With fifty kids running wild he was sitting in a chair because he was to weak to play. Chemo had wiped him out, and physical changed him. Cancer had robbed him of his ability to play like the rest of his peers. We have many blessings in our life, but 6 healthy kids is the biggest. Chris, Savion, and I will be shaving our heads to not only honor these children, but to help raise awareness and money for the cause. If you would like to give a monetary donation please do, but please take time out of your day to pray for all the children and families affected by this disease.
