Humans are so much more than hair and appearances. We are actions and community and connections. You won't remember that you had to buy store-brand macaroni for a week or care that you had to wear a stocking cap to bed, but you will remember that you were a part of something that helped children. I'm going to feel beautiful because I believe in the cause. I'm betting you will too, whether you shave your head or give until it hurts just a little.
