Celebrating 25 Years

St. Baldrick’s started as a grassroots effort 25 years ago, driven by people who believe in helping kids with cancer.

Hello everyone and welcome to our little corner of the St. Baldrick's website. For those who don't know the background, a few years ago my roommate Joe participated in St. Baldrick's, first introducing Amy and I to the organization. Amy thought it was a neat way to raise money and thought she might want to try it someday once she had "settled down." Well, that day has come. As she put it, I'm "locked up and not going anywhere," so she can go bald and I'll still think she's beautiful (all true). I'd also agreed that if she wanted to do it, I'd do it with her, so on May 2nd, we'll both be going bald to raise money for children with cancer. I've been lucky enough in my life that my family and friends have escaped children's cancer, but it's not so true for Amy's family. We've decided to raise funds in the memory of Amy's older sister Melissa and help others who have been impacted by this disease. We also understand that the recent few months have been pretty crazy in regards to the economy and other charitable organizations asking for donations and recognize that some may not be able to donate. In that case, all I ask is that you send Amy a note of encouragement for shearing those beautiful locks. :) Thanks, Jarvis & Amy
