Araceli was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor in June of 2016, just five days before her younger brother was born. Her tumor was later determined to be glioblastoma multiforme, a very aggressive and rare brain cancer which does not usually occur in children. She endured multiple brain surgeries, chemotherapy and radiation, but the cancer was too aggressive and too few treatment options were available to her. The cancer quickly stole her memory and her ability to walk, stand, talk and even swallow, and, just shy of 8 months later, it stole her life. She had just turned 10. Less than three weeks before she passed, Araceli shaved her head, donated her hair for the third time and raised over $8,000 for pediatric cancer research along with her brothers. We continue to raise money for St. Baldrick's in memory of Araceli and with the hope that one day no other family will have to lose a child to cancer.
