I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.

Cancer in a child is one of the most evil things that can happen to a family, because it's unprovoked. It doesn't discriminate, my daughter Shaila was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on August 2015. She endured almost 3 years of chemo like a champ. It wasn’t easy, even tho she made it look easy because she will always have a positive attitude and a big smile on her beautiful face, it was very hard to see her go thru so much pain and suffering due to the side effects of the treatments, as a parent it’s the worst feeling knowing you can’t do nothing but to comfort them.

With the lack of funding, our babies are given chemotherapy that leaves them with no immune system to fight infections that we all naturally have in our systems, we had to take extreme precautions to avoid going back to the hospital due to an infection. I just wish and pray that there will be an easier way to treat Childhood cancer. We are one of the lucky ones my Daughter has been in remission for almost 2 years. She just had her port removed! No more medicine! No more treatments!

Now I need your help! Please! Pediatric cancer is the leading cause of death by disease for children past infancy in the United States. Yet only four percent, yes 4%!!, of federal funding for cancer research is dedicated to childhood cancers. Our children deserve so much more.

Will you make a donation? Anything and everything counts.  Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
