I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Two of the last 3 years, my son, Andrew and I shaved our heads to support St. Baldrick’s Foundation childhood cancer research. On June 7, Andrew and I will become St. Baldrick’s Shavees for the 3rd time.

This cause is very near to our hearts. My niece Morgan was diagnosed with a neuroblastoma when she was less than a year old. With the help of amazing doctors and strong family support, Morgan fully recovered and is now a very healthy 15 year-old. My son also has a good friend, Matt, who in 2013 was also diagnosed with a neuroblastoma and has been in recovery on and off for 6 long years.

This year we are also honoring Patrick Gilligan, nephew of Trey Martin. When Patrick was just a toddler from Arlington, TX he too was diagnosed with a neuroblastoma. Fast forward almost 30 years and Patrick is a healthy alumni of Texas St University. Trey and I have shared eerily familiar stories remembering the conversations where we found out about the diagnoses like they were yesterday.

Please help us ‘Conquer Childhood Cancers’ and donate to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
