Why am I shaving my head with St. Baldrick’s? Because your donation “on my head” will actually save lives.
I'm shaving my head so that kids who lose their hair because of their cancer treatments don't feel so alone. They can see other kids who look like them and support them and maybe it can make them feel a little better.
I'm shaving for kids like my sister's best friend, Gianna, who beat cancer when she was just a little girl. When we met Gigi, she was still having treatment for her leukemia, but she had really great doctors and now she doesn't have cancer. We are so lucky that she was able to fight so hard and that she's able to be with us today!
Kids like Gianna really need our help, though! Pediatric cancer funding receives less than 4% of all the federal funding for cancers and most of the kids fighting cancer are getting grown-up cancer medicines. We need to help give money to the doctors and scientists who are trying to not only find a cure for pediatric cancers, but that they can find treatments that the kids can have!
Kids with cancer need our support now more than ever. St. Baldrick’s is the largest non-government funder of childhood cancer research grants, and the pandemic has slashed donations, slowing down the progress to find cures.
Cancer kills more of our kids than any other disease. Research can change that, and I don’t want to let these kids down.
You can help! Donate to my fundraising goal and help kids like Gianna beat cancer!
Thank you,
Will Greuloch, age 9
