I am shaving to raise money for childhood cancer research with: May, we nip it in the bud!

2013, 2018, 2022, and now...

Hello Friends! This will be my fourth time shaving my head and donating my hair for charity, and I would love your support, whether it be a donation, moral support, joining me, or if you could simply spread the word and create awareness for the cause.

I would gladly do this fundraising for St. Baldrick's a lot more often, however it does take a few years for my hair to grow out long enough to also donate it to make wigs for those who wish to have hair when they have lost theirs. I encourage anyone who is interested in this cause to try it at least once.. You don't even have to shave your head to get involved!

I titled my team "May, we nip it in the bud!" because it's a play on words, and it also involves my love for plants and the month I am participating. It's a fun way of saying let's end childhood cancer right now! :] 5/25/25 and St. Baldrick's 25th anniversary? A nice way to celebrate!

I have previously donated my hair to Locks of Love, Pantene Beautiful Lengths, and Hair We Share. I will update this page when I have chosen an organization to donate my hair to this year. So far I have grown around 12-13 inches of healthy hair since 2022!

I chose a goal of 1,019 because 10/19 is my wedding Anniversary, because it's a very obtainable goal, and I want to commemorate it any way that I can! Will you help me reach, or perhaps surpass my goal to support childhood cancer research and head towards a cure? Maybe get all the way to $2025 to complete my silly obsession with that number? We got this!! :D

---------------

I will be shaving my head this year in memory of those I have lost in 2024: my Gma Inge, and Nikita, my sweet dog. I have memorialized those I have lost in the past also; My Gram, Louise, my Great Grandmother, Elsie, and other family and friends that I have lost to cancer. I hope that in my lifetime, cancer can and will disappear. Thank you for any and all support.

Why am I shaving my head, and why should you care?

A challenge among friends 25 years ago has become the largest volunteer movement to Conquer Kids’ Cancer. This year, I’m joining thousands of others to shave my head to raise money for childhood cancer research!

Did you know, 1 in 5 kids diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. won’t survive? For those who do, more than 96% have severe or life-threatening conditions by the time they are 50.

Each shaved head, every dollar donated, creates a ripple effect of progress for kids with cancer.

Your gift will give kids and their families hope, supporting the best research across the country, through the largest charity funder of childhood cancer research grants, the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.

Together, let’s give these kids the lifetime they deserve. Thank you for your support!
