I am shaving this year for Kaylen and others like her. I had the opportunity to meet this strong young Kindergartener in April who was fighting an impossible battle with Diffuse Infiltrating Pontine Glioma (DIPG). I was humbled by seeing a 6 year old handle this greatest adversity with more grace than people ten times her age. I have a daughter Kaylen's age and it really hit home for me that while Kaylen was traveling to Chicago for chemo weeks at a time, my 6 year old was going to school each day with friends. Unfortunately, Kaylen ended up losing her fight in September on her 7th birthday. She was an innocent bystander who got hit by this terrible cancer and the very least I can do is try to raise some funds for childhood cancer research and hope that it will help others avoid this fate down the road.
We've all given something for breast cancer, or worn something pink for it. Let's do something for children with cancer who can't advocate for themselves!
Be it known to all that this participant has dedicated at least three years of service to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation helping kids with cancer throughout all the land.
St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids
Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
