I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team David

Hey, everyone! As you can see, I've decided to take the plunge. I'm going bald to raise money for Childhood Cancer, but I need your help. Childhood Cancer is one of the most underfunded medical issues in the world. Did you know that: There are 15 children diagnosed with cancer for every one child diagnosed with pediatric AIDS. Yet, the U.S. invests approximately $595,000 for research per victim of pediatric AIDS and only $20,000 for each victim of childhood cancer? The National Cancer Institute's (NCI) federal budget was $4.6 billion. Of that, breast cancer received 12%, prostate cancer received 7%, and all 12 major groups of pediatric cancers combined received less than 3%? The American Cancer spends less than 70 cents of each 100 dollars raised on childhood cancer? Cancer kills more children than any other disease, more than Asthma, Cystic Fibrosis, Diabetes and Pediatric AIDS combined? 80% of children have metastasized cancer at the time of their diagnosis. At diagnosis, only 20% of adults with cancer show evidence that the disease has spread or metastasized? (Facts courtesy of http://www.magicwater.org/facts/) This means it's pretty much up to us to make sure our sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, cousins, neices, nephews, grandkids, stepkids, adopted kids, foster kids, and all the rest get the testing, treatment, and preventative care they need to get and remain healthy. There are lots of ways you can help! ~You can join a team. On a team, you can shave your head or someone else's! ~You can make a monetary donation in any amount. A little bit can go a long way. ~You can spread the word! We need all the awareness out there that we can get. Maybe if enough people make enough noise, the Feds will ge the picture and take a little more initiative. Thank you in advance for your time and effort! These kids are worth it.
