In 2019, I decided to shave my head for childhood cancer research through St. Baldrick's for the first time, as an act of solidarity with kids going through cancer treatments that cause hair loss.
Four of my classmates and I raised almost $6000 in just over a month—way more than our initial goal of $3000. That experience convinced me that St. Baldrick’s was onto something…these campaigns are fun, inspiring, and can translate directly into hours of transformative research to improve quality of life for kids who deserve a chance at long, happy, and healthy lives.
Three years later, I’ve graduated college. I’ve grown out my hair. I’ve relocated to DC. And I’m ready to brave the shave again. (This time, I'll also be donating my hair to Hair We Share, an amazing organization that makes wigs for kids and adults experiencing hair loss.)
Why support this cause? Because your donation “on my head” will actually save lives. Kids with cancer need our support now more than ever; the pandemic has slashed donations, slowing down the progress to find cures, all while cancer kills more of our kids than any other disease. Research can change that; we can change that.
Thank you for your support!
