I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: MIT Sloan

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: MIT Sloan

As some of you know, I take pride in a lot of things - my work, my education, tackling food waste, etc. But more important than all those things... my hair. It's been known to make women swoon and men tremble with envy. But I'm doing the unthinkable: shaving it all off. Not for the hell of it, but rather for an incredibly good cause: to fight childhood cancer. You can help by making a donation and helping me reach my $5,000 target. All dollars go straight to St. Baldrick's (which is conveniently a play on "Bald Rick"), and donations are 100% tax deductible. Together with the Boston tech community, this event is going to raise over $100,000. The guest of honor at the event is Richi, a spunky 7 year old that was diagnosed with brain tumors in 2011. He ended his treatment in 2012 and is doing really well. His dad is building the Richi Childhood Cancer Foundation, which will be on-site educating people about childhood cancer and The Richi House project specifically. BUT - there's a catch. This will only happen if I reach the $5,000 bounty on my head by December 7. Only if this target is met will I bring out the clippers and say good bye (temporarily) to my golden coif. You will each have my endless love and relevant photo opportunities if so desired. Join Team Ricky for Richi.

St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
