A message to my donors:
Thank you so much for donating in my name to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.I've been awed the your generosity and sheer numbers (57 and counting!).

Our NetApp Sunnyvale St. Baldrick's event was March 14th. At the event, I spoke with parents of children who had cancer about what St. Baldrick’s meant to them. We also heard from a researcher whose research was funded by St. Baldricks. His research, deemed too risky to fund by the government, was to identify markers for specific cancer cells. If this research pans out (and he’s getting fantastic results in the lab), it could result in cancer treatment that is more potent but less toxic to the patients (read: no baldness! ).

Bottom line: your generosity will make a difference in the lives of children with cancer and their families.

I got a few extra minutes of fame courtesy of the San Jose Mercury News: http://photos.mercurynews.com/2013/03/14/st-baldricks-day-head-shaving-at-netapp/#4. There’s a bunch of great photos of the event at this link, keep cycling through.

Thank you!
