I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with:
A Team
Imagine this:
I want you to close your eyes for a moment.
It is Saturday afternoon.
Picture your little 5 year old daughter playing kick ball in the yard with your dog.
Suddenly as she is running she stops, appears to lose her balance but rights herself by grabbing your picnic table.
You do not think much of it until Sunday when she falls down in your family room.
Then on Monday she does not seem to be as alert as usual.
You call the doctor.
On Tuesday you take your little girl to the doctor.
He suggests that you take her to the hospital on Wednesday for some tests.
On Thursday the doctor tells you what every parent dreads.
Your little girl has cancer.
When you hear those words it feels like everything in your body has shut off. You are numb. You are paralyzed by fear and disbelief. You are nauseous but you cannot throw up. You feel helpless. You want to help your little girl but you are powerless. Then you weep and you weep until there are just no more tears to shed.
OK. Now open your eyes.
Over one half million parents will be told that there child has cancer this year. Over one half million parents will feel exactly what you just imagined.
Donate something. Your generosity may someday help find a cure.
As in the past I will send everyone who donates a photo with my head shaved just so you know i did it.
Thanks for your help.
