I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Childhood cancer has always been close to my heart. It started when I found out about Alexandra Scott of Alex's Lemonade. She passed away the day that my daughter was born. I have also had family members who had cancer, so that is another reason cancer is close to my heart. Five years ago, I shaved my head for the first time. In the 2013/2014 school year, my daughter decided that she wanted to shave her head with me. At the time, she was in the fourth grade and 9 years old. This was a brave and selfless act which really brought awareness to her friends who have not heard about it. She was the only girl to do this in her school that year, so more people paid attention to it. The teachers and staff really supported her decision to do this, which helped her to not be bullied for being bald. My girls have always donated their hair many times over the years with me. I will be donating my hair again this year. I look forward to giving hair towards a wig for a child. I have a big goal of $1,000 this year!!!!  (I just increased it to $1500 since I am only $13 away from that total!) I hope you can help me reach that goal! Thank you all very much!!!!!

I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.

Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
