I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

As some of you know, I worked at the Sutter Cancer Center for many years. My job routinely involved reading about the diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of cancer patients. I didn't encounter childhood cancers very often. Thank God for that. I remember my mom on a bad day as she aged saying, "Lisa, don't ever grow old." It was her way of joking about the aches and pains that accompany aging. However, given my job at the time, I always thought of the patients who never had the chance to do just that.

I will be shaving my head in March whether you donate or not. I'm showing solidarity with those who lose their hair during cancer treatment, adults and children alike, and raising money for childhood cancer research.

Please donate what you can to help. If you prefer not to donate online, I will deposit cash donations on your behalf. Even one dollar will help. Really.
