Imagine going through the hallways at school with your classmates, then you recognize the child that sits in the corner during your English class has been missing school. They come back after months of school missed and look unusual, bald and weak. This may be a cliche, but it's true, cancer is a significant epidemic which strikes one in every three individuals in their lifetime (American Cancer Society). However, what isn't cliche is that cancer doesn't just affect adults but also affects children, one every two minutes to be exact. Few people realize this, which is why I am bringing it up to you, to help shed light on it and further the cause. I am not only bringing awareness to the cause but also collecting funds to support further scientific research to help cure cancer, in a variety of ways that can not only prevent it but also ensure that it's safe for children and allow them to live normal everyday lives. To further raise awareness I have decided to shave my head as part of Brunswick High School's St. Baldrick's event on March 22nd. I would like to ask you if you can make a small donation to help further the cause and help better a child's life one donation at a time.
