I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Hi everyone!!!

It's the St. Baldrick's time of year again, and once again I will be shaving my head in an effort to support kids who are fighting cancer by raising money for research and standing with everyone fighting for their lives.

You may remember, last year when I set up my page, I was getting ready to have neuro surgery, and had just had my surgery a couple weeks before my shave. My recovery kinda sucked. It took a while to feel good again, but eventually I did. I thank God the growth on my brain was not cancer, but lots of kids are not as lucky. They have to go thru stuff way worse than I did. Their treatments are long and scary and painful and exhausting. No one, adult or child, should have to go thru that. So the least I can do is shave my head and ask for your support.

As many of you also know, my family does a lot of volunteer work for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. For most of my life I've been to and worked at different fundraising events to raise money for pediatric cancer research. I've met a lot of great people, staff, parents of patients and even patients themselves. You may recall in past years I have shaved my head in honor of my friend Ashley Montgomery. Ashley fought cancer for 16 years. Her goal was to find a cure and prevent any child from going through what she went thru. She started a foundation to help families of kids with cancer. She gave everything she had to fight this disease for herself and others, but in April Ashley earned her angel wings.

I will now shave my head in memory of Ashley because I want to help keep her dream alive.

Last year I raised $1,031 for pediatric cancer research, my goal this year is $1,500.

Please consider donating to my page and help put an end pediatric cancer.

No amount is too small!!!

Thank you for your support,

Austin
