I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Maya The Dragon

Maya has the best chance to beat leukemia because of research. But we need so much more. Maya has a good prognosis...but only after 55+ years of research. After sacrificed lives lost to failure. It has taken over half a century of scientists (and dedicated doctors and nurses) fighting for our future. And we still don't know what CAUSES most of the childhood cancers. There are so many other children fighting cancer. And so many more that will be diagnosed today, tomorrow....forever unless we stop this. Not every child has the same prognosis as Maya, most of them not good at all and some heart breakingly bad.

Just like a show on stage, the success can be determined by the crew behind the scenes. Our research scientists. We need to give them as many resources as possible. Kids' cancers are different from adult cancers and childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. I have finally talked Maya into letting my shave my head. I told her my hope is to help raise money for childhood cancer research and bring awareness to this nightmare that can strike any family. Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers. Will you make a donation?

On a personal note: I would like to bring my children up in a world where a woman's beauty and worth transcends her hair. This is difficult to do with all the princesses and shows that focus so much on looks. Also...I need to shed. It's been a long journey and I need some new skin. Love is life. www.mayathedragon.com
