I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Brennan

Have you ever met a person who has changed your life in the most unimaginable ways?  I would love to share my journey with one incredible little boy, Brennan.

Anyone that knows me, knows how much I truly believe that people enter your life for a divine purpose. So many life experiences that led me to Brennan were truly a testament of faith.

Brennan and his family live in beautiful Bermuda which is quite a special place to me! I was first introduced to the island of Bermuda by my life long best friend Darene.  Darene's family is from Bermuda and generously hosted me for several visits throughout my young adult years.   As fate would have it, on one of my many trips to Bermuda I met my handsome husband Walter :)

I became acquainted with the Watkins family three years ago. I was blessed with the opportunity to work with Brennan alongside a colleague and dear friend from Columbia University, Katie and Brennan's loving and committed Nanny at the time, Becca. We supported a program dedicated to enhance Brennan's academic and social development.

In my travels to Bermuda I was constantly amazed by Brennan's development.  It was not long before I realized that Brennan quickly became my teacher!  My experiences with Brennan improved my professional practice, enhanced my perspective on child development, and made my smile shine brighter.  Brennan is truly a child who will leave his footprint on your heart.

You can image my how my heart ached on the day that I learned that Brennan was being airlifted from Bermuda to Boston for a sudden turn in his health.  April 14th, 2016 marked the day that a little boy who was already quite the fighter (ironic that he happened to LOVE firefighters!) took his tenacity to a new level.  Brennan would spend several months away from home in aggressive treatment in Boston.  Brennan's loved ones would rally around him in the most dedicated ways to support this unexpected chapter in life.

Today, Brennan (pictured as Batman below!)  is fittingly back home and in the final phases of treatment for childhood cancer.  He is a SURVIVOR.  However,  Brennan's fight deserves a sacrifice and commitment that will pave the way for future childhood cancer research.  This is an opportunity to address the gap in research dedicated to meeting the needs of children-OUR future world changers!

I was inspired to take this journey by Brennan's mommy, Denise.  It is because of Brennan's story, his endless smile, and the gifts that he has given me that I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research!  I will be BOLD, BALD & BEAUTIFUL for Brennan.

Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Help spread the word? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.

I would LOVE for you to help me meet and exceed my fundraising goal in tribute to TEAM Brennan...a real fighter and super HERO!
