Someone asked me why I would “want” to cut my hair off. The answer is simple…I have a choice. For many of the children diagnosed with cancer it’s not a choice. As a mother I cannot imagine hearing the words “your child has cancer”. Sadly there are numerous parents who have heard these words.
I am cutting & donating my hair in Memory of Sawyer Orion Rummelhart (9/23/06-2/19/16).
Sawyer lived life to the fullest, even when diagnosed with Burkitt's Lymphoma 4/26/15. He loved cheese burgers, animals, the ocean (especially turtles), the Seahawks, playing basketball & football, dancing and just being a kid. He was a kind sweet boy who was very brave and selfless throughout his short fight.
His family is celebrating his amazing life with a new tradition of honoring Sawyers kind and gentle spirit. Using the #kindforsawyer pay it forward, make a donation, volunteer or just be kind. Be sure to tag #kindforsawyer with any donation to St. Baldrick’s.
He will be forever 9. #livelikesoy #kindforsawyer
Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures. Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
