Update: Thank you all for your generous donations! We had a great time at our Shaving Event and I'm totally rocking my new haircut.
It's not too late to support St Baldricks, but if you do, please let me know so I can thank you! (I don't get notified when someone donates, and I won't be checking this page frequently.)

I'm going bald for St Baldricks!
Since I've joined the Treehouse Childhood Cancer Project here at UCSC, I've learned a lot about childhood cancer. The causes of cancer in children are generally different from those of adult cancer; they are typically not environmental factors or inherited DNA mutations, but instead somatic mutations that occur in a single cell and spread as it divides.
But the way our medical system treats childhood cancer is also different. Childhood cancer is drastically underfunded and understudied compared to adult cancer. Many drugs that have been approved to treat different types of adult cancer are still considered experimental for children.
You can help us change that. St Baldricks supports scientists and researchers all around the world (including yours truly) to push forward the leading edge of cancer research.
To learn more about the Treehouse Project go to this link: https://www.stbaldricks.org/blog/post/treehouse-childhood-cancer-initiative-finding-new-treatments-using-shared-genomic-data
And if you see fit to send some of your charity dollars this way, they will be much appreciated and I can personally vouch that they'll be put to good use.
Thank you so much!
