I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research
As you know I work at Texas Children's Cancer and Hematology Center and I shaved my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures. Seeing all my patients fighting with the battle every day and being so brave made me want to do this for them. It will make them feel good and no different if they HAVE to do it I certainly CAN do it for them. I chose to do it and I am happy. For my mom which I love so much. She fought the battle and did not make it. For so many of my family members and friends that fought so hard and were not able to make it. For our little angels that are not with us from our cancer center clinic. For all of those family members and friends that are still here with us and are still fighting and for all of those that survived and are cancer free. Working with these patients every day makes me realize how fortunate I am and how grateful I am.
Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
