I helped to raise money for childhood cancer research with: CWRU Students

In August 2013, I began working in the pediatric hematology/oncology division at Rainbow Babies and Children's hospital. Since then, I've overheard dozens of conversations between doctors and nurses about the children with various forms of cancer that they are treating. Though it has always been sad to hear these stories, it didn't hit home for me until my friend, Jordan, found out that her brother, Joshua, has Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma. Amidst radiation and various doctors visits, Joshua maintained a positive attitude and strength that is inspiring to everyone around him. Unfortunately, Joshua gained his wings after nearly a year long battle with DIPG. I am raising money and volunteering at Rainbow's St. Baldrick's shave it off on March 10th in his honor.
