I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Hey everyone! I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! I know, I can't believe it either. Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures!

While I have family members and close friends who are either currently diagnosed or are survivors of cancer, since this cause is particularly for childhood cancers, I am doing this in memory of a dear friend, Breana. She was diagnosed with childhood leukemia years ago while I was in grade school. We used to sing together in our church's children's choir. Even before the cancer, she was always kind of attached to me. I'll admit, at first I wasn't always too warm to her clinginess, but she eventually grew on me. When she began to undergo chemo and treatments, she lost her hair and would usually wear a wig on Sundays for church. Whenever I would donate my long hair, I would tell her and she would get so excited!

She had her good days, but she had her rough days when she didn't feel well enough to come to church or she'd have headaches and feel weak. But no matter what, whenever she smiled, her joy was contagious! She truly was a fighter. For a good period of time she was cancer free, but then her cancer returned harder and more tough than before. Breana passed away a few years ago while I was attending college.

Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers. Thank you in advance for your donation. Please share this event (maybe even participate!) and help me honor the life of Breana and all others who've fought childhood cancer!
