I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

In the U.S., more children die of childhood cancer than any other disease —yet all types of childhood cancers combined receive only 4% of the U.S. federal cancer research funding.

· There are over a dozen types of childhood cancers, and countless sub-types, making it more challenging for researchers to find cures for every kid.

· Many adult cancers can be diagnosed early. In 80% of kids, cancer has already spread to other areas of the body by the time it is diagnosed.

· Some cancers almost never strike after the age of 5; others occur most often in teenagers.

· Even when kids get cancers that adults get—like lymphoma—they must be treated differently. Children are not simply smaller adults!

So I am shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Yup, I have signed up to BRAVE THE SHAVE with St. Baldrick’s Foundation on March 12th. My goal is to raise $5,000.00 and if I meet or beat that goal, I will GO LIVE on Facebook while getting my head shaved. Will you help me reach my goal?
