As a child I lost my cousin Lori Stanton to cancer. She was just 7 and I was 5. I still remember going to visit with my cousins at my aunt and uncles home. How weak she was physically but emotionally so strong. I admire my aunt Lonna and my uncle Hank for the way they managed to carry on when we lost her. Today I often wonder what she would be doing had cancer not taken her so young, how my cousins, her brothers Hal and Doug's lives would be different. In a world where we can put a man in orbit for a year and return him safely to earth it seems we should be able to prevent the passing of children to cancer! I look at my children every day and thank god while praying that I never have to feel the pain so many families do at the hand of cancer. Those who know me know I love my locks...I love kids more and this is a SMALL sacrifice! I was also so inspired by Griffin Engle's battle with cancer which sadly he lost. I'm sure he is with the angels now and also my sister-in-law Emily's cousin Luke Bradley for whom the battle continues!

St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids
Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
