I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Z for Phi

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Z for Phi

"You should shave your head, too," my friend told me with a smile. I was at the St. Baldrick's event at the Candlelite in Chicago to support the Zematis Family, and was all set to donate, hug folks, and cheer on everyone who'd actually planned on getting shaved. "Ok," I said. "You get $300 in donations right now, and I'll do it." Off he went, and before I knew it, powerhouse Sarah Zematis, whose young daughter Sophia was diagnosed last year, was standing on a chair announcing this challenge to the packed room. She had over $400 in under two minutes. The rest, like my hair, is history. I'm expanding my goal. The event is done, but my fundraising isn't. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government. Your gift will give hope to Sophia and thousands of infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. Donate. Get involved. Do the unexpected.
