I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Blackhawk2016

I'm cutting an entire foot off of my mane to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures. ----

For several weeks at work, I have seen emails go out about courageous people who are contributing to the cause, and once I saw how many people within Blackhawk Network alone wanted to participate in such a generous way, I knew I wanted in!

Unfortunately, I don't have the means to make a monetary donation, all I have is this head of hair that I have been taking care of for the past 5 years. 5 whole years! The same age as some of the many beautiful faces I have seen surfing the St. Baldrick's site.

After years of hearing 'Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end ', at 25 years old, I finally get it.

Even though this marks the end of my love affair with my lush locks ;), it marks a new beginning for at least one sweet baby out there. Which goes to show, there is going to be a new beginning happening out there somewhere, but just because you closed a chapter in your life, doesn't necessarily mean the new beginning that is bound to follow can't be used to fill a tiny little heart with hope.

I encourage you to give or do what you can to help give these kiddos a shot at a new beginning. The amazing folks running the show almost make it TOO easy to participate/volunteer!

Most of all, I want to encourage you to remember how great it felt every time you were fortunate enough to see a new beginning, and pay it forward, so that even the tiniest of us can feel the joy too!
