I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: SJHS

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: SJHS

My name is Dominic Soares. I am 10 years old, and a student in the 4th grade at St. Louis de Montfort. I am shaving my head for Bald for Lexi, one of my schoolmates, through the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. St. Baldrick’s raises funds towards research of Childhood Cancer. I will be shaving my head on March 19th in the parish hall at St. Louis de Montfort.

I enjoy playing sports, going to school, riding my go-cart, and participating in mass. My hope is that one day every child will have the same opportunities to participate in the things that I take for granted.

Many people and families are affected by cancer in one way or another, and I am one of those people. In 2011 my Avó, was diagnosed with cancer, at first I was a little scared, but I managed to get through it. My Avó is now in remission and now it is my turn to fight for a cure. My sister has donated her hair 3 times to locks of love, and I have always wanted to do something to raise awareness, that is why I will brave the shave.

Please remember that any donation can help lead to a cure, and I hope that one day we will be able to cure cancer forever.

Love, Dom
