I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Cancer stinks. It is relentless, unforgiving, and shows no mercy. It doesn't take a holiday or a day off. It has gotten away with way too much for way too long and it's time we stopped it in its tracks now. Seven (SEVEN!!!) years ago when I was treated for advanced aggressive throat (tonsil) cancer I told myself almost everyday "It's OK, it's me, it's not my child, I can handle this." I have been a cancer patient. I am a parent. I cannot imagine what it must be like to be the parent of a cancer patient and to have your precious child go thru a cancer diagnosis and treatment. So again this year, for the sixth time, I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures. Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers. When I shave my head for St. Baldrick's people always say "You're so brave," but really, it's so simple. It's not like I'm walking for three days or running a marathon -- I'm just sitting there getting my head shaved! Really, it's no big deal. Life looks very different on the other side of cancer, and I can tell you that hair is pretty insignificant... But what is a big deal is your support -- I am a miracle, and if I can make miracles happen for someone else, then it all, everything, was worth it. Thank you for your generosity from the top of my soon-to-be-bald head to the bottom of my heart!
