I helped to raise money for childhood cancer research

I helped to raise money for childhood cancer research

5 years ago I met up with mom and dad volunteering at Commack's St. Baldrick's Day. Mom, being the woman she was, took charge of the 'behind the scenes operation'. I remember thinking how amazing she really was. She was having a blast, joking around with the teachers and determined to beat the previous years total. That night I could tell how passionate she was about the fundraiser, never wanting a child to have to experience what she had that past year. I was so blessed that we could share in the event for the next two years. Unfortunately, the disease made her weak and unable to participate the past two years. I continued to participate, representing her. Last year, I donated 12 inches to Locks of Love and with your help was able to raise $1000. St. Baldrick's Day has become a special event for our family. This year is no different, we will be there in memory of mom. I am so excited to share that it touched a third generation. Courtney has shared that she would like to donate her hair to Locks of Love this year. Mom would be so proud of her!
