Did you know that cancer is the number one disease killer of children and young adults? I am a survivor because of research that created the first new drug for my form of Childhood Leukemia, Byphenotypic Leukemia, in almost 50 years. You read that right! Clofarabine was the first new drug, research created for childhood Leukemia in almost 50 YEARS!
The St. Baldrick's Foundation provides our local children's hospital a research infrastructure grant, and because of that --this life saving drug (which at the time was only available through clinical trial) was available to me!
I have a big goal this year in celebration of 5 1/2 years of being cancer free! No donation too small.
I shave in solidarity with my friends fighting for their lives and for those that have passed on. I shave for myself. Having no choice, but to lose your hair to cancer robs you of so much more than hair. I shave because this time I have a choice.
Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
Donate to theSt. Baldrick's Foundation so that every child has a cure.
