I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Markit 24 Hour Global Shave

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Markit 24 Hour Global Shave

After: Thank you very much for everyone that donated! It's a tribute to your generosity that I smashed my target of $500, with over $1,000 coming in during the last 6hrs pre-shave. Rest assured your money will be going to a great cause in fighting a dreadful disease that touches us all at some time in our lives. Again, thank you! Before: In 1998 I decided to shave my head in order to save money on shampoo and barber costs, or another absurd reason. At the end of 2013 I decided to grow it back. This year I’m going back to the/my roots and trying to raise as much money as possible for a great cause! Now, I know you will have received many similar requests from colleagues to donate to their fund. As with everything in life, it’s always good to add something extra to sway your need to donate…..to me! I’d like to impart some knowledge that I’m sure you’ll find life changing, or not….. What did I learn being shaved for 15 years? •    180 hairdresser visits avoided, that’s €5K saved! •    You drink €5K more beer    than you would have with hair. •    Getting home at night and you know you look exactly the same as you left in the morning. Bar previous statement. •    Hats, caps, crash helmets have no impact on hair style. •    Ignore SP50 at your peril! •    When you don’t have hair getting a back wax for St. Baldrick’s also works •    Waxing encourages growth  What did I learn having hair for the last 15 months? •    Nothing’s changed. Hair dressers still talk absolute gibberish. •    What happened to Brylcreem? Now there’s different levels of hold, texture, colour (!), 6 shelves at the supermarket compared to 10cms top left, wax, crème and some other stuff I’m sure glows in the dark. •    Living in the windiest country in the world, none of the above work. •    At time of leaving home in the morning, it’s the best you’re going to look all day. See last point. •    Waxing your back when you’ve only just grown your hair back also works for St. Baldrick’s. Was really needed as well! Please donate to the best cause!
