I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: For a Reason

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: For a Reason

Hello everyone!  It is year 8 and together we are still fighting a great fight against childhood cancer.  Last year I/we were knighted as a Knight of the Bald Table, an honor bestowed to those who have participated for 7 years. I say "we" because shaving my head means nothing in a vacuum, it only works when we come together as a team, raise money and work to beat cancer.  Last year we raised over $3,800 for cancer research and over the years we have raised a total of $23,000! My favorite day of the year is St. Baldrick's.  The event is extraordinary - filled with hope and joy.  Listening to families share their stories and discuss their struggles navigating the world of childhood cancer is heartbreaking and surreal. Yet the energy is positive, even celebratory, and unmatched. We are a part of this amazing movement to make advancements and find better treatments and some day - a cure. We are changing and SAVING lives!  My parents have always modeled  the practice of helping others and I've found that I  too - want to help.  I gain so much from helping and I am excited for my boys to learn how their lives can be enriched through service and charity.  I am thrilled Quinn and Nick will again shave their heads and join me for a second year in this great cause. Let's do this!
