Hello, my name is Jeffrey Thomas. I am from Chicago, Illinois.and I am joining St Baldricks at Loyola University on Thursday April 3rd. This is my second year volunteering for this foundation. I had a blast last time and I know I'll have a even better experience for the second time around. I heard about this event through a friend of mine (Maria Jolly) who shaved HER WHOLE head! I know that's a big thing for a girl to donate their hair....so that REALLY motivated me to shave mine also. The fear of losing ones hair can create so many insecurites for a cancer patient so this helps me understand barely a percent of what they go through on a daily basis. I do have family members/family friends with cancer, so it hits home for me. I can't even understand what these families that have children with cancer go through. The best thing I can do is pray, support and spread awareness. I hope this motivates you too! You don't have to shave your head to support. There's so many way that you can help. Spreading the word and trying to raise money for this selfless organization would be a BIG form of assistance.
I am contributing money for a beautiful young kid named Conner =] He is a 11 year old boy from Naperville. Check out his profile here: http://www.stbaldricks.org/kids/mypage/335
I would love it if you can all help me reach my goal! =]
Thank you,
Jeffrey "Unni" Thomas
