3/22/14***UPDATE*** The final countdown has began. I am so excited to do this but more than anything I am humbled. The outpouring of encouragement and support has been overwhelming. I started with what I thought was a good size goal and my family and friends showed their love and support by making that original goal just a flash in the pan. I am honored to be shaving in the memory of a young lady that lost the battle just 19 days ago -Taylon Davis. All though I only knew her in passing, be it around town or at the high school football games, she really touched me. As a mother I have followed her story and her mothers journey. I have been known to be a fixer.......I fix things. It makes me feel better. This I could not fix. There was nothing I could help with to make the battle any less for this family. What I could do was try a little part in helping so that it does not happen to others. So other children and their families did not have to go through this. I am no dummy and I know that the money you guys have helped me raise will not be what finds the answer, but if it is what we can do to help then that is what I will do. As a person that has been single for so many years and a single mother I often think I am in this daily race of life alone. You guys have proven me so wrong. I may not have a lot of fancy things but I have learned that I have all the riches when it comes to LOVE. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You have filled me with a joy unlike I have ever known. <3
3/4/14**UPDATE ON TAYLON****Taylon is now resting in paradise. No longer in pain. Heaven now has it's newest Angel.
I have followed the story of a young lady, a beautiful spirit, Taylon Davis. She has inspired me to make a change where I can. I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures. Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
