I'm shaving my head to support Mac Davison, who has bravely been fighting neuroblastoma since February 2013, for his awesome parents, who are fighting along side him, and for all of the other families affected by pediatric cancers. No family should have to hear that the research "isn't quite there" and that there is nothing more that can be done for their child.
I met Mac and his twin brother Ailyn within minutes of their birth - I was lucky enough to be on the night they were born into the NICU where I work. Mac was the loudest baby in the NICU that night - he's been turning heads and making people smile ever since, in and out of hospitals, in Brooklyn and all the way Upstate. Emmett counts Mac as one of his best friends and has even had several hospital play dates this past year. A gentle boy with a sweet soul, I feel privileged to have known Mac his entire life.
St Baldrick's is a nonprofit whose sole purpose is to raise money for childhood cancer research. Childhood cancer research is underfunded and every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers. Mac participated in a clinical trial during his treatment - the more trials, the closer we are to finding meaningful treatments for these awful diseases.
Thanks for your support!
