It is that time of year again when the Groundhog is back in his hole, March Madness is quickly approaching, and I am soon to get my HEAD SHAVED through St. Baldrick's to raise money to battle Children's Cancer and search for a cure. This will be my 6th year getting my head shaved through this great cause. I have not had a haircut since Nov. 6, 2013 so getting pretty shabby!
Since its beginning in 2000, St. Baldrick's has raised $175,500,000 to fund grants for research to battle Children's cancer. They are the #2 fund raiser in the World for this cause, second only to the US Government. Each year 175,000 Children Worldwide are diagnosed with Cancer, and in the US more Children die from Cancer each year than any other Disease!
Last year St. Baldrick’s raised over $34,000,000 Worldwide. Thanks to many generous people, back in 2013 I raised over $1400 for St. Baldrick's which exceeded my goal. This year I am raising the bar accordingly with a goal to exceed $1500. Every dollar contributed helps Kids, and is Tax Deductible.
Once again I am honoring Sam A. in my event. Sam lives in Elizabeth Town, KY, is 8 years old, and has been battling Leukemia since he was only 3 years old. What he has been through is astounding. You can click on his link near the bottom of my St. Baldrick’s page under "Kids Honored" to learn more about Sam.
If anyone is interested in joining me for my head shaving, St. Baldrick's will be shaving heads at the Paddy Wagon on Main Street in Richmond on Saturday, March 15th. It is a blast for a great cause!
Thank you!
