Dear Friends and family,
As many of you know In October of 2013 I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's B cell follicular lymphoma. I am blessed that it was caught VERY early (stage I) I was given the option of radiation therapy as opposed to chemotherapy. This meant less side effects and the hair loss that results from chemotherapy and that frankly scared the heck out of me was not going to happen.
I have competed therapy and now will complete some followup test and soon anticipate the good news of being cancer free.
I dreaded telling my oldest Son Ian that I had cancer. I did not want to see the fear and pain that I assumed would be his reaction. He surprised me and handled the news quite well in fact he has turned out to be my greatest champion.
I floated the idea of the both of us becoming involved with a fantastic organization called the St. Baldrick's Foundation and shaving our heads to support the fight, particularly the fight of childhood cancer and he without hesitation jumped in head first! (Pun intended)
Please Help Ian and I raise money to make the lives of the children that suffer from the fear and pain that is cancer a little more tolerable. No amount is to small and your generosity will help us meet the goals we set. It's easy to do and takes very little time. Your help is needed and just a few clicks away.
If you’re looking to support us in person and have some fun at the event, we will be shaving our heads at The American Legion Post 1977 14414 Ford Drive in New Lenox Friday evening March 21st. 2014
If you have already detonated THANK YOU!
Thanks for listening. Ian and I appreciate any and all help you may give.
Sincerely,
Jim McGonigal
