I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures. Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
I chose Jackson from Abingdon MD for a few reasons. Not only does this little guy live in the same town as my family, but my son is the same age. My wife and I know very well what it means to have a child with an illness of significant magnitude to care for. To see a child's strength without fully understanding what is going on and to see the hurdles one by one being surpassed is motivation at its finest. My daughter who is 10 was also treated at Johns Hopkins but for something totally different. I know what it means to make the trips to Johns Hopkins, feeling the frustration, making sure the slue of medications are precisely given, the time off work, but most importantly to see your friends, family and neighbors come together for support whether you asked for it of not. I feel connected to this family. Donate if you can. Lets help keep this little guy riding his bicycle.
