I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with:
Bald by design
I am asking for your support in my new role as a member of the Seven Knights of the Bald Table. You heard that right, this will be my 8th year of shaving my head to support childhood cancer research through the St. Baldrick's Foundation. My reasons for doing this are personal because my family has lived through the horrible experience of having a child with cancer. My oldest daughter Claire was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Lymphoma nearly eight years ago when she was only 10 years old. It was a long three years of treatment at St. Jude Children's research hospital in Memphis and with Dr. Jonathan Bernstein at home in Las Vegas. Thanks to the advancement of treatment funded by money from organizations like St Baldrick's her cancer was put in remission where it remains today. If this had happened to me at her age I most likely would not have survived. Today Claire is finishing High School and headed off to fashion design college in the fall. I just ask that you consider any donation you feel comfortable with, either large or small. The research these dollars fund saved my daughter's life and I hope we can all do the same for other families like mine who don't deserve to see their child suffer. Thank you hearing my story and there are many more families out there who wish for a happy ending too. Please help out my cause and donate today to St. Baldrick's. Our Bald by Design team raised over $69,000 last year and overall St Baldrick's raised over $34M in 2013 for childhood cancer research. You can help us beat that amount this year and I will be the one going bald so you can keep your hair. Many thanks! Windom
