As a pediatric resident, I'm just finishing my 2 month rotation on UCSF's hematology, oncology, and bone marrow transplant unit. It has been an incredible learning experience as part of my training but also given me immense appreciation of the strength of the children, their families, and their entire care teams that makes fighting their cancers possible! I'm also even more in awe of how real-time pediatric cancer research really is!
In honor of ALL THE KIDS on 7Long at UCSF, and everyone who takes care of them, I'm shaving my head! (again... for those of you who remember my pre USMLE-Step1 shave... this time it will be more meaningful). Also know, I will have 2 more overnight shifts when I'll get to show it to the kids on 7Long this weekend!
I'm a last minute person... so let's see if you can help me come up with at least $300 before Saturday when I will say goodbye to my hair :)
Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.
Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you!
