I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team UCSF

On Saturday, November 16, I will join my colleagues at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital to raise money for Childhood Cancer Research. I’ll be shaving my head. BALD. That’s right. BALD. Bald as a ping-pong ball. I’ll be Bald for Thanksgiving, Bald for Christmas, and Bald for New Year’s. OR, I could (this is more likely) look like a Chia pet for the next 8-12 weeks. And, I might have a terribly misshapen head to boot. But you know what? Kids with cancer don’t get to decide if they will lose their hair during chemotherapy, they just have to suck it up. And therefore, so will I.

As an additional incentive, anyone who donates to my cause can log into

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Apb1qlhbJ6WtdG5oYVdkc1lPMkVQbjByZGVYSElKb0E&usp=sharing

and vote for the number of days it will take to grow the hair at my widow’s peak exactly 1 inch from my scalp. The lucky winner will receive a beautiful bottle of Jim Barbour Cabernet Sauvignon

St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
