I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Many of you know that I lost my Mom to cancer. Sadly, I have also lost other family members, friends, and most recently- a colleague just this year. Even now I have family and friends fighting their own battles with this terrible disease. And yet- selfishly, this year I almost let them fight their battle alone by not participating in St. Baldrick's. For all my (9/11) talk about wanting to give back, do the right thing by your fellow man, etc... I almost let this time go by because I was "too busy." Then I saw a picture of my Aunt who is in the trenches of a her own cancer battle-- participating in a fundraising walk to beat the disease. And I thought if she can take the time, so can I.

Now I know that St. Baldrick's is geared toward conquering "childhood" cancer and THANKFULLY, I don't know any children fighting this fight. But these battles are all part of the same war...and ours is a small part-- a few emails, a few minutes, a few dollars, and maybe even a free haircut. If everyone who has been touched by cancer took part in eliminating it-- just think of what we could do. Thanks for your time- and I hope you'll support this cause.
