I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I am a 72 yr. old grandmother whose 15 yr. old granddaughter died from AML on May 20th. 2013 after an 8.5 month battle. My daughter stayed in her room with her at Sick Kids while I moved in with the family in Brampton to help out. I am having my head shaved to raise money and awareness of this horrible disease. Emma suffered unbelievably but never complained or gave up the fight right to the very end. She died as they were preparing to remove her colon. Her last words before she went under were "tell everyone I love them and I'll see you all when I wake up". She never woke up as her heart stopped during surgery.

St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
