I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

My name is Richard Hartnett; in 1991 when I was nineteen months old, I was diagnosed with cancer. I had chemotherapy, four surgeries, some experimental treatment at the National Institute of Health, and radiation in order to get rid of the tumor in my brain. After almost ten years, I was cancer free. While I had cancer, I had to get my head shaved for operations and it fell out because of the chemotherapy. St. Baldricks Day is about raising money so that kids with cancer will be able to be treated at hospitals near their homes. I had cancer and know how great it was to have been treated close to home. I am willing to shave off all my hair. This will eventually happen to everyone who has cancer or needs chemotherapy. I need help to raise the money so that kids with cancer can continue to be treated close to home. I said I would try to raise $1,000. If I can get 100 people to donate $10 I get to my goal. That would make me feel real good. Please help. Please pass this on to other so they can help too.
