I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I'm Kristen and I'm shaving my head in memory of my friend Jonathan. He was a major influence in my life and was the kind of person who could make you laugh one minute, and then lend you an ear and give you advice the next. He touched the lives of everyone he knew and I know everyone probably has a story they could tell you about him. After he passed away I started thinking of ways to honor his memory and had heard of St. Baldrick's, but wasn't sure if shaving my head was the way to go. To be honest, I was a bit nervous of what people would say about a 20-something woman who suddenly decided to shave her head. I was watching a story on CNN one day about a little girl who shaved her head because the little sister of one of her friends had cancer, and right then I knew that I could do it. I've gotten varied responses when I've told people that I'm shaving my head, but I know that I'm doing the right thing. I hope now to not only honor Jonathan's memory, but make a difference in the lives of children who are battling cancer right now. If you'd like to make a donation, I'd greatly appreciate it, and please remember that no donation is too small. Thank You.
